Press Coverage of Richard Poe
“[David Yeagley says:] I began writing regular articles for David Horowitz’ FrontPageMagazine, back when Richard Poe was the editor. I was soon appearing on shows like Hannity & Colmes, Bill O’Reilly, and C-Span.”
“Why is no one looking into George Soros?” Glenn Beck asked Richard Poe, celebrated co-author of The Shadow Party… on GBTV last Wednesday.
“I think I paid a huge price for going after George Soros. But I ain’t dead,” Beck said, “Quite honestly, I thought that was an option.”

Want to know how George Soros has collapsed economies and fundamentally changed nations across the globe? Richard Poe, [co-]author of The Shadow Party, explained it all on GBTV last night.

Joining Beck on GBTV to discuss George Soros and his political connections was Richard Poe, co-author of “The Shadow Party” …
“Can you tell me, Richard, first of all, why is no one looking into George Soros?” Beck asked. “Why is this ‘class warfare’ on everybody else except for George Soros?”
“Glenn,” Poe responded, “I would suspect that what happened to you when you went after George Soros may have a lot to do with that. You… went after George Soros more thoroughly and more definitively… than, I think, anyone has ever done on network television… And I think it probably appears to a lot of people… that you got punished for that.”
Newsmax was early in identifying Soros as a political force, featuring him on the cover of our May 2004 magazine with the headline “George Soros’ Coup [by Richard Poe].” Our cover story detailed Soros’ influence in Eastern Europe, supporting emerging democracies after the fall of the Iron Curtain through his Open Society Foundations.
On the whole our feature gave a negative view of his activities there. But my own views about Soros’ involvement were tempered after our magazine was published and I visited Eastern Europe in 2006.
Glenn Beck: “And Richard Poe is also with us. He is the co-author of Shadow Party, also a book you must read. … Shadow Party, a book that I don’t think I would have believed three years ago, and it is MELT YOUR BRAIN. It’s unbelievable. It is truly, truly unbelievable.”

In a 2006 book written with Richard Poe, The Shadow Party: How George Soros, Hillary Clinton, and Sixties Radicals Seized Control of the Democratic Party, Horowitz said that the strategy outlined in our article (the so-called Cloward-Piven Strategy of Orchestrated Crisis) was a blueprint to “collapse” the capitalist system.
Frances Fox Piven, “Crazy Talk and American Politics: or, My Glenn Beck Story,” The Chronicle of Higher Education, February 10, 2011
In 2004, Richard Poe, in Velvet Revolution, USA, outlined the seven-step strategy used by Soros to topple Milosevic. This strategy, Poe writes, is the same “blueprint” used repeatedly by Soros in other countries: Form a Shadow Government, Control the Airwaves, Bleed the State Dry, Sow Unrest, Provoke an Election Crisis, Take the Streets, and above all, Outlast your Opponent.

Recently the right and the left are fighting over Marxist agitator Frances Fox Piven, who, in her old age, has been caught talking up violence… As to how the Cloward-Piven secret was hunted down and plugged, it was cornered in 2005 by Richard Poe, in DiscovertheNetworks.org.
Arlen Williams, “The Left Defends Its Advocates of Violence,” The American Thinker, January 29, 2011
The story they now tell about Piven can be traced to David Horowitz… In his 2006 book, written with Richard Poe, The Shadow Party: How George Soros, Hillary Clinton, and Sixties Radicals Seized Control of the Democratic Party, Horowitz identifies the “Cloward-Piven Strategy” outlined in their 1966 Nation article as the centerpiece of the radical blueprint to “collapse” the capitalist system.

We begin tonight with the world’s revolutionary in chief, George Soros. New commentary now from “Shadow Party” co-author, Richard Poe.

The word “conspiracy” is nowhere to be found without quotation marks in the text I wrote with Richard Poe about Soros’ activities.

While accusing Beck of anti-Semitism, … It is apparently irrelevant to Paredes… that the overwhelming majority of what Beck reports is taken directly from The Shadow Party by David Horowitz and Richard Poe… Horowitz and Poe are not only both Jewish, but are about as anti-Semitic as Netanyahu.

SMALL CORRECTION BY RICHARD POE: I am grateful for Ken Larrey’s words of support, but must correct him on one small fact. I am not Jewish, but Catholic. It happens that my father was Jewish, but I was raised in my mother’s Catholic faith. Mr. Larrey’s error is understandable. Many people on the Internet have mistakenly written that I am Jewish, and Mr. Larrey apparently stumbled upon one of these erroneous commentaries. RP 5/30/11
A top conservative commentator in the United States has accused an American billionaire donor of helping instigate the post-election violence in Kenya.
Glenn Beck… pointed his audience to an article on his website… According to the article, Mr Soros’ institute followed a detailed strategy that resulted in a regime change in Yugoslavia in 2000, Georgia in 2003 and Ukraine in 2004.
“Compelling evidence indicates that Soros may have employed a similar strategy in Kenya, but with far more gruesome results,” writes the article’s author, conservative activist Richard Poe.

In the book The Shadow Party, writers David Horowitz and Richard Poe outline a step-by-step system Soros used to bring about regime collapse. Beck explains that Soros has made progress in this arena in efforts to undermine the U.S. government.

This oft repeated ‘nazi collaborator’ smear is taken from the pages of The Shadow Party: How George Soros, Hillary Clinton, and Sixties Radicals Seized Control of the Democratic Party, a thoroughly discredited book written by right-wing pundits David Horowitz and Richard Poe.

But as radicalism expert Richard Lawrence Poe has noted, “Camouflage is key to Alinsky-style organizing. In organizing coalitions of black churches in Chicago, Obama caught flak for not attending church himself. He became an instant churchgoer.”

Perhaps the most important of these “whistle blowers” are David Horowitz and Richard Poe. Their book “The Shadow Party” outlines in detail how Soros hijacked the Democratic Party, and now owns it lock, stock, and barrel.
Soros has been packing the Democratic Party with radicals, and ousting moderate Democrats for years. I don’t have time to do the subject justice in this article, but FrontPage’s Jamie Glazov has an excellent interview with Richard Poe, which will fill you in on many of the facts.
An investigative author says George Soros used Sen. John McCain to push for limits on issue advertising by grassroots groups… The author, Richard Poe, told WND that Soros later funded the senator’s Reform Institute because of their work together on the McCain-Feingold Act.

Well, it was short and sweet. My tenure as editorial director of TheVanguard.org (TVO) came to an end last night… Following a candid discussion with TVO Founder and Chairman Rod Martin last night, we agreed to end our association… due to our differing and strongly-held views concerning organizational priorities and strategy. Honorable men can agree to disagree, and so Rod Martin and I have done.

The operation’s board members include ex-Apple CEO Gil Amelio, antitax lobbyist Grover Norquist, and Marvin Olasky, the Bush adviser credited with mainstreaming the term “compassionate conservative”; its 10 staffers are led by Jerome Corsi, coauthor of the anti-John Kerry book Unfit for Command, and, until recently, Richard Poe, a former editor of the conservative magazine Front Page.

TheVanguard.org is intended to be a right-wing version of the leftist MoveOn.Org. … Coming on board Feb. 16 as TheVanguard’s full-time editorial and creative director will be Richard Poe, who has served as editor-in-chief of FrontPage Magazine. He has been described as the conservative movement’s leading expert on MoveOn.Org’s strategy in bringing together disparate elements with a common viewpoint.
Fueled with Silicon Valley money, TheVanguard.org will have Richard Poe, former editor of David Horowitz’s FrontPage magazine as its editorial and creative director.

Scaife recently invested in NewsMax, a magazine that features rambling, pointed investigations of Soros. One NewsMax cover story, “George Soros’s Coup,” was written by Richard Poe… In October, Poe co-wrote “The Shadow Party,” another critique of Soros, for an online magazine run by the Center for the Study of Popular Culture, which receives funding from Scaife. This summer, Poe appeared on “The O’Reilly Factor” to lambaste Soros.

George Soros… is motivated not so much by ideology as he is by his hatred of religion. So says NewsMax contributing editor Richard Poe, who explained what makes Soros tick for Fox News Channel’s Bill O’Reilly on Tuesday.
“Why Soros Hates Bush,” NewsMax.com, May 18, 2004
Poe took a long and winding road to his current right-wing ideology. After graduating from SU in 1979 with a degree in creative writing, he went on the lam. “When I left college I was trying to become the next Jack Kerouac. I wanted to be a novelist. . . . Actually I was a post-hippie. I was frustrated that I had missed the ’60s, so I spent several years trying to recreate them.” How? “I’d rather not say.” So in the tradition of all great Syracuse-area hippies, Poe spent some time toiling for the man at a desk inside the New Times office.
