BOOK: Hillary’s Secret War

On February 11, 1998, Hillary Clinton told reporters that the Internet needed an “editing” or “gatekeeping” function. The World Wide Web was out of control, she said. It needed to be reined in.

For the next two years, Hillary put her words into action, waging war on the Internet — a secret war carried out by Hillary’s Shadow Team, a network of secret operatives embedded in federal intelligence and law enforcement agencies.

Braving harsh resistance from Hillary and her Shadow Team, dissident Web sites such as NewsMax, WorldNetDaily, the Drudge Report, FreeRepublic and others took up the mantle of crusading journalism that Big Media had forfeited.

Hillary’s Secret War reveals for the first time how these Web warriors defied an outlaw White House; endured government repression; exposed treason at the pinnacle of power and helped change the course of the 2000 election.

Their story has never before been told.
