The town of Herndon, VA has set up a taxpayer-funded employment service that will hook up day laborers — most of whom are illegal aliens — with interested employers, reports CNSNews.com. Federal law imposes fines up to $11,000 per employee per day for employers who hire illegal aliens. (via gopusa.com)

About 87 percent of Herndon’s day laborers are illegal aliens, most of Hispanic descent, notes CNSNews.com.

“I don’t think a city should ever be involved in helping to find employment for illegal aliens,” says Susan Tully, national field director of the Federation for American Immigration Reform. “They are entrapping the citizens of Herndon and the surrounding area into committing a federal violation of law. Lawmakers should never be in the business of helping lawbreakers.”

Local opponents of the program have set a Web site called HelpSaveHerndon.com.

I believe one of the most effective way to curb this type of criminal behavior is to enforce existing laws: $11,000 per employee per day. However, I don’t have a clue how to do that. Laws are there but are ignored. Didn’t WalMart recently have this type of issue? I certainly don’t remember this $11,000 per employee per day penatly being levied against them.

  2. CBreeze says:

I think by utilizing an employment service, these businesses avoid the prospect of a fine because they’re not doing the hiring.

My question is this; wouldn’t the town of Herndon be required to ask the worker for proof of eligibility to work in U.S. just as every business is??? If not, the Fed should simply amend existing law to fix the problem.

  3. kyle says:

KRNHWLL, for that to happen you have to actualy have some elected officials who are interested in enforcing the law. Right now, almost no one, in either party wants to do whats right.
And I am not sure what we can do to force them to uphold the law.

    Kyle,

Punishment, of some kind, would be a good place to start.

Take the Federal “alcohol while driving limit”, when Clinton was President, and Clinton wanted the states to adopt that law, or face the aspect of not getting their Federal Highway Fund money.

Or, when the U.N. was an actual working body, the U.N. would put sanctions on countries, who were messing up.

I believe that “punishment ” would be a very good place to start!

  6. kyle says:

Yes, but who is going to punish? We have a true vast bipartisan conspiracy here to disobey the laws and cover up for the lawbreakers. Finaly a few politicians have felt the pressure and have taken some half-hearted measures, but only because they have elections coming up.

  7. Joshua Knape says:

Crikey, a vast bipartisan conspiracy. Is that a merger between the vast right-wing and vast left-wing conspiracies?

“Happenings” in the backyard of the nation’s capitol (a.k.a. Northern Virginiastan)

Leftist lunacy in Herndon is very accommodating to more than the “illegal aliens”:

UBL’s cell-battery supply man was a HERNDON resident as well.

“Tarik Hamdi, 43, … who had been living in Herndon, has not been arrested, …said a
    spokesman with the ICE…,

Hamdi delivered a satellite phone battery to a Bin Laden aide while he was in Afghanistan in May 1998 helping to set up an interview for ABC News …”

It has been reported that this fresh cell-phone battery allowed UBL to make the calls to the Kenya and Tanzania US embassy bombers.

He skipped town – and dropped off the radar screen – until

Later – it turns out Herndon’s resident AQ contact – now -most likely enjoys diplomatic status –
and works in the Iraqi Embassy to Turkey.

The political elites are in the pockets of big business robber barons and will never do anything about illegal immigration. These people want unlimited illegals so they can keep wages down! Take for instance the state of Arkansas where Tyson foods has gov. Huckabee in their pockets. over the last several years, Tyson has been the largest reason N.W. Arkansas has been flooded with illegal aliens. Until wtp get behind people like Tom Tancredo and demand that congress and the president enforce our laws and close the border,we will see our country colonized by illegals! I was angered when the president called the Minute-Men vigilantes. When our government refuses to protect our soverign borders, then we must do it. fyi, an excellent site about illegal immigration– numbersusa–you can fax congress for free, even the president. These guys are great and have the real facts and I have used them for years! They now have over 100,000 members.

  10. tazzmax says:

P.S. Illegal immigration is one of the worst problems facing America today! There is more than 12 million illegals in America with hundreds coming in every day. This angers me greatly that these people keep coming here with the blessings of our crooked politicians! Where’s it going to end?

tazzmazz writes: “Until wtp [we the people?] get behind people like Tom Tancredo and demand that congress and the president enforce our laws and close the border,we will see our country colonized by illegals!”

    Dear tazzmazz:

I have given my view of the Tancredo insurgency here, here and here.

Dividing the Republican Party, and thus giving aid and comfort to the Democrats, is no way to secure the US border. It will have the opposite effect.

  12. tazzmax says:

Richard Poe writes: I have given my view of the Tancredo insurgency—Dear Richard: I agree that dividing the Republican Party is giving aid and comfort to the Demo-rats, but we surely can’t depend on Bush and his robber baron friends to do anything about illegal immigration. We need to get more support from congress to force the administration to close the borders and I hope that Tancredo is enough of a fire-brand to help bring congress together. Bush needs to realize that he is the one mainly to blame if the Republican Party splits. He refuses to do any thing meaningful. What’s his ultimate agenda, make us the United States of Mexico?

  13. Sharikov says:

I am very sorry Mr. Poe. I did not know.
    No more until I learn.
Thank you for the feedback and patience.
