On his blog, The Beak Speaks, “Rudy Republican” commentator Beakerkin offers a review of The Shadow Party, which he describes as “an excellent introduction to the wacky world of George Soros.”

However, he faults our book for a lack of “oomph,” saying that it lacked “two slight missing ingredients.” Specifically, Beakerkin complains that Mr. Horowitz and I should have portrayed Soros as a “megalomaniacal mental case”, rather than as a “cold and calculating” conspirator. Beakerkin also expresses disappointment that we failed to zero in more relentlessly on Soros’ alleged “violations of the law.” He states that, “Soros should be charged and his assets confiscated,” for unauthorized meddling in US foreign policy.

“This was a book with great potential that needed a bit more oomph,” Beakerkin concludes.(1)

Personally, I thought The Shadow Party packed plenty of oomph, but evidently not the sort Beakerkin craved. Well, it just goes to show, you can’t please everyone.
